Fans have been eagerly anticipating any new detail about the upcoming movie based on Until Dawn. The wait is over, especially for those wondering when they can watch the movie.

The movie adaptation of Until Dawn now has a release date. This development comes after the film was officially announced early this year.

Now that the filming of the movie has wrapped up, the release date has been set for April 25, 2025. This date is four months before the 10th anniversary of the hit interactive horror video game, which was released on August 25, 2015.

Movie Details

Directed by David F. Sandberg, the movie adaptation stars Ella Rubin, Michael Cimino, Ji-young Yoo, Odessa A'zion, Maia Mitchell, and Belmont Cameli. The screenplay is written by Gary Dauberman.

Among the original cast members of the video game, only Peter Stormare will reprise his role. In the game, Stormare played the role of Dr. Alan J. Hill.

While details of the plot have not been confirmed, it has been speculated that the movie adaptation will be faithful to the video game.

No other details about the movie adaptation have been confirmed as of press time.

'Until Dawn'

Developed by Supermassive Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, Until Dawn follows the story of a group of friends who reunite in a remote mountain resort one year after two of their friends disappeared.

The goal of the player in this game is to ensure the survival of every member of the group. However, this becomes easier said than done as choices made in the game may have a positive or negative effect on the chances of survival.

Cast members of the game include Oscar winner Rami Malek, Hayden Panettiere, and Brett Dalton. The game received positive reviews from both critics and players during its initial release.

The game was recently remade for the PlayStation 5 and PC. According to The Seattle Times, the remake has improved graphics but changed the to a third-person, over-the-shoulder camera. The original game had a fixed camera.

Aside from this, it is being speculated that the remake is hinting that Until Dawn will get a sequel. This, however, has not been confirmed by Sony.

For those who needs to be refreshed about the game, here is the official launch trailer for the remake.
