Grand Guilds, an upcoming tactical RPG from Drix Studios, is making big waves on Kickstarter. After achieving full funding only two days after the campaign was launched, Drix Studios continues to gather support and funding from all over the world to develop one of the first big indie gaming titles from the Philippines.
Entitled Grand Guilds, the game is a story-driven RPG that makes use of card tactics and turn-based strategy for its combat system. With a diverse cast, an original story, and setting, backers of the game are high with anticipation for its scheduled launch this coming September. Featuring tactical strategy elements, unique gameplay mechanics, and immersive story-telling, Grand Guilds lets players embark on a magical journey through a beautiful continent ripe with conflict and adventure.
For folks who want to try the game for themselves before committing, there’s a free demo version of the game available on the Grand Guilds Kickstarter page. The demo version is a far cry from what we can expect from launch, but it does let players experience the story’s prologue, as well as some of its unique combat systems. Unfortunately, the demo version is only available on PC. You can get it here.
While originally planned to launch only for PC and Nintendo Switch, the overwhelming support for the game has caused developer Drix Studios to create ports for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 as well.
Grand Guilds has already achieved its primary funding goals, but there are several stretch goals available to help make the game even better by adding more content and additional gameplay mechanics. If you still want to support the game on Kickstarter, know that you’ll be helping to add more skill cards, random Sky Pirate encounters, and a character relationship system, among other things.
