Uplay is down at the time of writing, and that’s causing nightmares for the For Honor open beta that began this morning. Getting connection errors on console or PC? We have the latest word from Ubisoft and some tips that may help.
As for the official statement, Ubisoft support tweeted, “we are aware that some users are currently unable to login to Uplay PC and are currently investigating.” Unfortunately, that means a little time and patience are your best strategies for staying sane. Some users have reported that waiting a few minutes and trying again has solved their problems, however.
Another standard tip to consider is possibly trying to reboot your internet connection. To do this, unplug your modem and router for 30 seconds and plug them back in. That may offer a more stable signal that could get you in, but, ultimately, it’s up to Ubisoft’s networking crew to fix the bulk of the issue on their end.
When it comes to the For Honor open beta, there’s still plenty of time for the developer to get its act together. The trial period is set to run from Feb. 9 through Feb. 12 across Xbox One and PS4, in addition to PC. Players are given access to the Elimination, Domination, Brawl and Duel modes for free before the title’s full release on Feb. 14. For more details, check out our full article on the subject.
To reiterate, the For Honor beta is open now, but server issues are bound to cause occasional downtime in the early hours. As of right now, PC seems to be the most impacted platform.
