We just got our first good look at League of Legends’ next champion, Taliyah. In the “Homecoming” video we see a small girl surf on rocks while pushing herself through a sandstorm. This happens right after the story we saw last week, that gave us bits and clues to who Taliyah actually is. Now we know that she has a scarf and wears all purple.
In the video she approaches what looks to be the sun and says “home.” As she gets closer she realizes it’s the newly risen empire of Azir. She then says “so the rumors are true” and shoots off into the sunset. The rumor was told to her by a merchant in the written story who said that the once sunken city of Shurima had come back from beneath the sands.
The video is short and not nearly as exciting as some of the other reveal videos, but it paints a picture of who she is and what she looks like. Her face is the most realistic of all of League’s female champions. Instead of perfect bone structure and buxom curves, she has an average face and normal body. It’s good to see Riot going away from idealized female stereotypes and showing us a real person.
Taliyah’s full kit should be revealed tomorrow when the PBE goes up.
