The finales for Arrow Season 5, The Flash Season 3 and Supergirl Season 2 are quickly approaching and there’s always a group of fans who like to binge the entire seasons at once instead of tuning in nearly every day of the week throughout the year. The good news is, Netflix and CW may have just revealed when that binging session can commence.
The Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 finale was April 4 and new episodes appeared on Netflix eight days later, April 12. The CW has confirmed finale dates for The Flash, Arrow and Supergirl. Netflix also just teased in their latest monthly release announcement that The Flash was coming soon, even though it didn't appear in the schedule. That’s probably because the CW hadn’t officially announced the finale dates yet. But now that they have, it’s likely The Flash, Arrow and Supergirl will arrive eight days after their finales in late May and early June.
Here’s what the release schedule could look like:
Supergirl Season 2 On Netflix May 30
Finale airs Monday, May 22
The Flash Season 3 On Netflix May 31
Finale airs Tuesday, May 23
Arrow Season 5 On Netflix June 1
Finale airs Wednesday, May 24
Last year, The CW didn’t release past seasons of Arrow and The Flash and DC Legends of Tomorrow until the new seasons premiered in October. However, the streaming service and network announced the release formula would change to reflect Warner Bros. expired deal with Hulu, which used to allow fans to watch the full episodes on demand on a rolling five basis. CW’s relationship with Hulu was likely cut after the network announced an update to The CW App that allows fans to watch the episodes for free with commercial interruptions, without a cable subscription.
This means it’s safe to expect full seasons of other CW shows -- Riverdale, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Jane the Virgin, The Vampire Diaries, The 100, iZombie, The Originals -- to arrive on Netflix about a week after their season finales as well.
