In Scandal Season 12 episode 18, Olivia will struggle in the aftermath of murdering Andrew Nichols. However, she won’t have much time to wallow in her guilt. Her “former” lover, Jake, is not only still marrying his new girlfriend, Vanessa Moss, the two are also moving their wedding to an earlier date.
But Olivia is not convinced that Jake truly loves this woman. She has suspected for a while that his relationship with Vanessa has something to do with her father, Eli and B6-13. She was especially certain when she realized that Jake set up his first meeting with Vanessa the same way he set up their first meeting, in a coffee shop, where he accidentally knocks her phone out of her hand. It turned out the two did not meet by chance, but that Eli was having Jake protect Olivia on behalf of B6-13. Somewhere along the way he fell in love with her.
That love, of course, was tarnished when Olivia chose Fitz instead of Jake and moved into the White House. Since then, Jake and Eli have doubled down on an odd father-son relationship, with the two living together and Jake acting more like than annoying little brother than an ex-lover toward Olivia.
However, in episode 18, Olivia will not only uncover whatever Jake and her father have been planning, she will also learn about his past and how he became a member of B6-13.
But will Jake actually marry Vanessa? We will find out in the upcoming episode, called “Till Death Do Us Part,” which is best viewed on television or live online through ABC Live .
