One of the most anticipated upcoming movies is Justice League. DC fans are hoping Warner Bros. can finally pull off a live action film worth paying to see in theaters. We’ll get our first real chance to see whether a good ole superhero team-up can get the job done when the new Justice League trailer releases next week.
A fan who had a chance to meet Snyder snapped a selfie and revealed the director told him a new Justice League trailer would release ‘real soon’ meaning ‘by the end of the month.’
San Diego Comic Con brought our first look at Batman’s recruits: Aquaman, Wonder Woman, Cyborg, and The Flash. The trailer was great, but hopefully the next will show a little bit more depth than the Bat recruiting the heroes. We’re still waiting to see Justice League's main villain, Steppenwolf.
The villain was actually revealed in a Batman V Superman deleted scene called “Communion,” starring Lex Luthor. In the clip, Luthor is in the Kryptonian ship he used for Doomsday. He encounters an alien who is holding mysterious boxes, which could be mother boxes that allows the beholder to travel between dimensions. While the visitor wasn’t Darkseid himself, it's fairly likely it was a close associate. Producer Deborah Snyder later confirmed the character was Steppenwolf.
Clues from Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice had the rumor mill pegging Darkseid as the villain, which could still be true in part, though sources claim the film will focus much more on Steppenwolf, member of Darkseid’s elite and head of military on Apokolips. It’s likely Warner Bros. is saving Darkseid for a future film, possibly the Justice League sequel. Ciaran Hinds has been confirmed to voice the New God, who is mainly a CGI character.
Last month, a 4chan user claimed Aquaman is the star of the trailer. The anonymous poster also said there’s a slow motion scene with The Flash and Steppenwolf is revealed at the very end. However, since the credibility of the source is unknown, take that with a grain of salt.
Since the last trailer introduced the good guys, it’s only right this next trailer shows the bad. Are you excited for the first look at Steppenwolf? Let us know in the comments below!
