Animal Crossing Pocket Camp New Year's Event Guide: Bring In 2018 Japan-Style

Animal Crossing Pocket Camp ’s holiday event, which saw players collect candy cane and craft items from villagers and the quarry to create a slew of Christmas-themed items like cakes, street lights and fireplaces, has run its course. The mobile game’s second event, which immediately follows the holidays, is a New Year’s event that lets players bring into 2018 with the finest Japanese trappings.

The New Year’s event runs much like the holiday event. During the New Year’s event, players receive countdown charms instead of candy canes upon completing requests for animals. These countdown charms are needed in order to craft special New Year’s-themed items. New Year’s-themed clothing is unlocked by completing animal requests or by entering Shovelstrike Quarry when the countdown charm icon is displayed alongside the quarry on the map.

The Animal Crossing Pocket Camp New Year’s event runs from 12/26 at 1 a.m. EST to 1/11/18 at 12:59 a.m. Once the event is over, Shovelstrike Quarry will no longer offer the countdown charms.

There are also special Event Challenges that offer bonus countdown charms upon completions. You can only clear these Event Challenges and claim their rewards while the event is active. These are the challenges and rewards:

• Complete 3 requests for visiting animals: x10 countdown charms

• Complete 10 requests for visiting animals: x10 countdown charms

• Complete 20 requests for visiting animals: x1 kimono sandals

• Complete 40 requests for visiting animals: x30 countdown charms

• Complete 70 requests for visiting animals: x40 countdown charms

• Craft fancy kadomatsu: x10 countdown charms

• Craft basket of tangerines: x10 countdown charms

• Craft zodiac dog: x10 countdown charms

• Craft flowery kotatsu: x40 countdown charms

• Craft fancy mochi pestle: x1 kimono

• Craft fancy osechi: x1 haori

• Craft fancy kagamimochi: x40 countdown charms

• Craft OK Motors kite: x40 countdown charms

• Craft kadomatsu screen: x1 sparkle stone

• Craft Isabelle kite: x20 leaf tickets

To craft the new furniture, open the Craft menu and tap the limited-time icon. The furniture cannot be crafted after the event ends, but event furniture that you start crafting during the event can still be collected after it ends.

The furniture includes:

• Zodiac dog: 100 bells, 10 countdown charms. 1 min

• Kadomatsu screen: 100 bells, 10 countdown charms; 1 min

• Fancy kadomatsu: 100 bells, 10 countdown charms; 1 min

• Fancy osechi: 300 bells, 40 countdown charms; 10 min

• Flowery kotatsu: 300 bells, 40 countdown charms; 10 min

• Fancy mochi pestle: 300 bells, 40 countdown charms; 10 min

• OK Motors kite: 500 bells, 80 countdown charms; 30 min

• Fancy kagamimochi: 500 bells, 80 countdown charms; 30 min

• Isabelle kite: 800 bells, 250 countdown charms; 1 hr

• Kadomatsu screen: 800 bells, 250 countdown charms; 1 hr

The clothing includes:

• Blue haori (Reward for crafting fancy osechi)

• Kimono (Reward for crafting fancy mochi pestle)

• Kimono sandals (Reward for completing 20 requests for visiting animals)
