Apex Legends is more than ready to launch its newest limited time event. Titled Fight or Fright, the event begins this October 15 and ends on November 5. Players should be excited to know that a lot of new content is coming like a limited time mode that lets you experience Kings Canyon at night. There are also exclusive event challenges where players can earn free loot along with Halloween inspired Collection Event cosmetics, and a whole lot more.
Shadowfall Limited Time Mode
Shadowfall sees Kings Canyon descend into darkness. At the beginning of the match, 35 players drop in to what is an eerily-lit Kings Canyon and fight to the death. That's not all, as there is a rather dark twist. Any time a player dies, they respawn as an undead version of their Legend and join the "Shadow Squad."
Players who are part of this Shadow Squad cannot use weapons and even have their legend abilities removed. However they get both movement speed and jump speed increases. They even have the ability to scale walls as well as unlimited respawns through skydive. Making them even more dangerous is their brutal melee attack.
The battle continues until 10 living Legends are left. These remaining 10 players then need to work as a team and try to make it to an evac ship. All the while the Shadow Squad is going to stop them from escaping.
Event Challenges
During the limited time event, players need to complete different challenges in order to get free exclusive skins and even two Legendary Weapon Skins. Challenges include:
- At first login during event
- Reward: Fight or Fright Music Pack
- Kill 1 shadow in Shadowfall
- Reward: Fight or Fright Badge - Tier 1
- Kill 50 shadows in Shadowfall
- Reward: Fight or Fright Badge - Tier 2
- Escape on the Drop Ship 25 times in Shadowfall
- Reward: Fight or Fright Badge - Tier 3
- Kill 25 loot bin spiders or zombies in Shadowfall
- Reward: Ghostly Graveyard (R301 Weapon Skin)
- Kill 50 legends in Shadowfall
- Reward: Wildfire (Octane Legend Skin)
- Win as both legend and a shadow in Shadowfall
- Reward: Nocturnal Elegance (Devotion Weapon Skin)
- Complete 20 daily challenges
- Reward: Haymaker (Alternator Weapon Skin)
Event Limited Premium Cosmetics
Apex Legends is bringing a new set of 24 themed and limited-time cosmetics. All of these are going to be available starting on day one through direct purchase, crafting, and even Event Apex Packs. Here's the prices we can expect:

Apex Legends announced that event currency has been removed from the Packs and instead replaced it with additional loot. What this means is that players get more total items from each Pack. In addition, Apex Legends gave the assurance that there are going to be no duplicates in the Event Apex Packs. Specifically, each pack contains:
- 1 Event Item
- Probabilities: 50% Event Epic, 50% Event Legendary
- 1 Non-Event Item
- Probabilities: 70% Rare, 20% Epic, 10% Legendary
- 1 Non-Event Item
- Probabilities: 70% Rare, 20% Epic, 10% Legendary
Non-event items can be any of these: Weapon Skins, Legend Skins, Legend Finishers, Banner Frames, Banner Poses, Banner Stat Trackers, Intro Quips, Kills Quips or Crafting Metals.
