ARK: Survival Evolved update 1.45 has just released on PS4, and you may be looking for the patch notes. In fact, the list of fixes are so small, Studio Wildcard decided to reveal the details in a single tweet instead of a standard forum post.
“A PS4 client-side patch is going live in approx 20 minutes,” the game’s official account tweeted Thursday evening. “It fixes some localization bugs and the in-game player list scrolling.”
As those who follow the game closely will know, the player list scrolling has felt a bit laggy since 1.44 released last week. In our testing with the new version, there doesn’t seem to be any issues this time. In terms of localization, our rough assumption is that most of the changes are probably visible when playing ARK in a non-English language. In other words, if you’re reading and understanding this article, there’s probably nothing in the data that affects you. The patch amounts to just a handful of megabytes.
The previous PS4 update to ARK: Survival Evolved was far more substantial. It introduced the Tek Sword and Tek Shield to the Tek Tier and made some balance changes that more accurately reflect how certain armor types respond to torpor. In the most general sense, the PS4 version of the game is on par with what’s being offered on ARK’s flagship PC builds.
As for the Xbox One side of the equation, those folks will have to wait a bit longer to get the latest round of fixes. According to a recent tweet from Wildcard Co-Founder Jeremy Stieglitz, the new Tek content is currently scheduled to hit the Microsoft console on Monday. Due to extended certification steps after the game’s full release this August, updates are taking longer to dispatch. The next update will be the final one to pass through lengthy certification. After that, support for PC-hosted Xbox One servers and Xbox One X will be added.
ARK: Survival Evolved is available now on PC, Xbox One, PS4, OS X and Linux.
