In Arrow Season 5 episode 15, “Fighting Fire With Fire,” Adrian Chase was revealed to be Prometheus. All season long, comic book fans assumed his alias was Vigilante - the second villain that’s been giving Oliver some trouble this year. While the first mystery was solved, it’s quickly been replaced with another. Unfortunately, Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim doesn’t think we’ll get answers as far as Vigilante's true identity anytime soon.
“We know the answer to that,” Guggenheim told Entertainment Weekly. “You probably will not get the answer to that in Season 5.”
Event the actor himself, Josh Segarra, didn’t realize he was playing Prometheus at first, which explains the multiple reports claiming he would play Vigilante. He got to Vancouver and started researching Vigilante, assuming that’s who Adrian Chase’s alter-ego would be. But speaking with Guggenheim one day, the producer finally informed him the truth.
So who could Vigilante be? The big twist shot down all the solid theories and fans weren’t prepared to have to answer this question. There are still those die-hards hoping Tommy Merlyn will return in some capacity, even if he’s a villain. Vigilante also had other alter-egos in the comics, including Patricia Trayce, Justin Powell, and Dorian Chase (Adrian Chase’s brother). There’s also still chatter of Quentin Lance’s strong motives for revenge on Oliver after Laurel’s death, but what do you think? Let us know in the comments below!
