In addition to a new intro voiceover, Arrow Season 6 brings a new suit and a new high-tech trick arrow for the crossover episode.
"My favorite high tech arrow? I like the bola arrow a lot and I like the arrow that I use in the crossover this year,” Stephen Amell said during his Heroes and Villains panel in New Jersey. He also said that so far this season, he's been using a lot of weapons that aren't a bow and arrow.
In case you need a refresher, the bola arrow releases cords that wrap around and tie up a target. In Season 5, Arrow used this against Vigilante. Not exactly a surprising pick by Amell, it’s a classic one. As for the suit, a fan didn’t even have to ask about a new one, Amell came right out with it to tease fans about the upcoming season. When he was asked about his favorite version of the Green Arrow suit, though, Amell said it will always be the original from Season 1.
Since Amell specifically mentioned the crossover episode, you have to wonder if that’s when we’ll be seeing this new suit too. It’s supposed to be the biggest crossover The CW has ever had and it includes a proper episode with Supergirl.
It’s odd Amell would mention Oliver has not used a bow and arrow in a while. However, with his son, William, now in the picture, it’s possible Oliver is taking a break from wearing the Green Arrow suit. In the recently released promo, Oliver asked William, “Who is the bad guy,” and William points to him. Oliver’s alter-ego certainly puts William at risk...Prometheus’ beef with Oliver may have even killed Williams’ mother on Lian Yu.
Oliver’s mission with Deathstroke also means he may have to put Green Arrow on hold. How he’ll keep his relationship with Deathstroke a secret to the public remains to be seen. He can’t have everyone knowing he’s working with the man who killed his mother? Whatever the case, Amell said his filming schedule so far has been light due to other characters in the spotlight but said, “that’s all going to change on Monday.”
