Following the official confirmation of the Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S launch date and price, Assassin's Creed Valhalla surprised fans by announcing a new release date for the game.
Microsoft confirmed the release date and price for both of its upcoming Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X consoles after leaks started surfacing on the internet. The Xbox Series S is a budget-oriented console, carrying a $299 price tag compared to the flagship Xbox Series X, which is priced at $499. Both of these consoles will be launching on November 10. Shortly after, Ubisoft also made an announcement that it has moved up the release date for Assassin's Creed Valhalla from November 17 to November 10, corresponding with the launch of Xbox Series S/X.
The official launch date announcement for Valhalla states that the game will launch on November 10 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, and Xbox Series X. However, it did not mention PS5 on the platforms list. It is possible that Assassin's Creed Valhalla may not launch on the PS5 on the same day as other consoles.
Previously, an industry insider mentioned that the Xbox Series X would launch first and the PS5's launch will follow a week later. However, we have yet to see if that turns out to be true.
The change in the release date is also good for Valhalla as it was releasing in the middle of other highly anticipated games like Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War and Cyberpunk 2077, which are releasing on November 13 and 19, respectively. It now seems that Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be the first game to give us a glimpse at next-gen gaming, followed by other games.
On a similar note, pre-orders for Xbox Series S/X will begin on September 22.
Assassin's Creed Valhalla will be launching on November 10 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and Stadia. The PS5 version of the game has yet to receive a launch date.
