After teases and speculation as to when Attack on Titan Season 2 would debut, Funimation has come out and revealed the premiere date for the second season of the popular anime will be April 1.
On the official Funimation blog, the streaming service posted the release date along with a tease as to what to expect from the upcoming season.
This line was included in the Attack on Titan Season 2 announcement, teasing the debut of the latest threat to humanity. “The Titans are back and hungrier than ever! We won’t spoil the details, but we will tell you that it’s going to be a beast of a season.”
Funimation has really hammered home the fact that the Beast Titan will be coming to the anime as the latest threat. Especially when it’s heavily featured in the first trailer.
A brand new poster for the upcoming image was also released on the Funimation blog, showing off all the major players this season and a synopsis of the upcoming season.
Eren Jaeger swore to wipe out every last Titan, but in a battle for his life he wound up becoming the thing he hates most. With his new powers, he fights for humanity’s freedom facing the monsters that threaten his home. After a bittersweet victory against the Female Titan, Eren finds no time to rest—a horde of Titans is approaching Wall Rose and the battle for humanity continues!
