A new trailer for Better Call Saul Season 3 confirms what we’ve long suspected: Gus Fring is back.
At the end of Better Call Saul Season 2, both Jimmy “Saul Goodman” McGill (Bob Odenkirk) and Mike Ehrmantraut are in precarious positions. Chuck McGill has all the evidence he needs to destroy Jimmy’s legal career. Meanwhile, Mike is warned against killing Hector Salamanca by a mysterious note — very likely left by Gus. Season 3 could see them both fall into Gus Fring’s orbit, as Jimmy is forced to embrace illegality and Mike has no choice but to abandon his freelance, goon-for-hire lifestyle.
This new trailer for Better Call Saul Season 3 doesn’t show how any of this will go down in upcoming episodes, but it does reintroduce us to the Los Pollos Hermanos restaurant chain that was so central to Breaking Bad.
While this trailer doesn’t tell us much about the plot of Season 3, it does give off some very creepy — even cannibalistic — vibes. “Taste the family”? What the hell is that?
While Gus Fring probably isn’t going to reveal any people-eater proclivities in Better Call Saul Season 3 (we saw him prepare a tasty salad in Breaking Bad), the sinister undercurrent in this trailer primes us for violence and brutality ahead. When Walter White meets Gus Fring, he’s an established businessman with his own empire. But what horrors did Fring perpetrate during his rise to the top? We may just find out in Better Call Saul Season 3.
