The BlackBerry Priv is available at Verizon , three months after the device initially launched. The primary features of the device are the Android operating system and a slide-out physical keyboard.
The BlackBerry Priv won’t come cheap at Verizon. The device’s full retail price is $720; however, users have the option of paying for the Priv in installments of $30 monthly for 24 months.
The BlackBerry Priv is also available at AT&T and T-Mobile . Sprint has not yet indicated whether it will offer the smartphone. If you’re looking to save a few dollars on the Priv, either Verizon or T-Mobile would be your best options. T-Mobile is offering the device for $720 unlocked, while AT&T sells it for $739 unlocked.
The BlackBerry Priv features a 5.43-inch Quad HD display with the same curved edge display popularized by Samsung’s Galaxy Edge line. The handset includes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 chip, 3GB of RAM, 32GB of internal storage and a 3410-mAh battery as its main hardware features. The Priv also has an 18-megapixel rear camera and 2-megapixel front camera. It runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop and also includes BlackBerry’s security suite software.
The physical keyboard on the BlackBerry Priv slides out from the back of the device. Instead of pressing buttons, users can run their fingers along the keyboard to execute functions, such as scrolling. The handset also has Edge features, similar to Samsung’s Edge devices, including a Productivity Edge, under which users can list their agenda. The BlackBerry Priv edges also display a progress bar while the device is charging.
