Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare ’s Sabotage DLC is just a few hours old, but many franchise veterans are already asking for the expansion’s four new multiplayer maps to be added to the Hardcore playlist. That will come in due time, says Infinity Ward multiplayer designer David Mickner.
When probed on the matter, Mickner said “we'll be making some adjustments to DLC playlists as we go. Hardcore etc.” Furthermore, he added “we'll announce when they are ready.”
With the release of the Sabotage DLC earlier this week, there are two main questions with regard to playlists. One, of course, relates to Hardcore, and the other is about when the DLC maps will be rotated into some of the larger multiplayer lobbies. Unfortunately, at the current time, IW has no answers to share.
For the Call Of Duty faithful, this silence could be read as yet another reason to think Infinite Warfare wasn’t ready for release when it debuted last November. Critical features like leaderboards have only just been added to the multiplayer suite, while Combat Records and Custom Emblems wait in the wings for the next few weeks. Features such as these and optimized playlists are often ready as soon as possible for other franchise titles. That’s not the case this year.
Regardless, it should be noted that Infinity Ward has at least heard the concerns of its fans. The same can also be said with regard to the Sabotage DLC installation issues that cropped up on Tuesday.
Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare ’s Sabotage DLC features a new Zombies chapter and four multiplayer arenas called Noir, Renaissance, Neon and Domination. The latter of that quartet is a remastered classic that first debuted in Modern Warfare 2.
Call Of Duty: Infinite Warfare is available now on PS4, Xbox One and PC. The DLC is currently exclusive to PS4.
