Spring has finally arrived and what better way to celebrate things than with some multiplayer mayhem in Call of Duty: Vanguard. Now is also the time to play with friends since there’s a Free Access period beginning March 30, which features selected new and popular Vanguard multiplayer maps and modes. This promotion lasts until April 13, giving you two weeks of free play.
Season Two Maps
For the duration of the Free Access period, players can try two of the multiplayer maps launched during Season Two.
The first is Casablanca, which is the shining jewel of Morocco. It’s a medium-sized and three-lane-style map within a marketplace. There are also some buildings that players can explore and climb upon. In this map, expect to experience different vertical engagements that need close-range and long-range tactics.
The second is Gondola, also a medium-sized and three-lane-style map. Jump on the Gondola to travel above a large gulch and fire watchtower. However, be sure to jump off before it goes off the cliff. Players can take advantage of the long sightline that the route provides or for those more into close-quarters combat, head to the power plant and caves.
The Alps
Players can also try the new large-map objective mode set in the Alps which features new vehicles. There’s also one major objective needed to win: capture all the bases.
The gameplay is that once a base is captured, players can choose to respawn at that base or at any other captured points on the map. This is in addition to being able to spawn in on their fellow squad members. The bases, meanwhile, automatically set up gates for the defending team within and allow safe passage for allies while shutting themselves when enemies are nearby.
Each friendly base has several Buy Stations for additional armaments and abilities and even vehicles. Players can use the cash earned to buy weapons, equipment, Killstreaks, and Field Upgrades. They can even use their Custom Loadouts.
