Call Of Duty: WWII multiplayer has mostly consisted of three maps called Pointe Du Hoc, Ardennes Forest and Gibraltar. However, in a stream Wednesday, a fourth map called Flak Tower was shown off in frantic CTF action.

As we can see from the screenshots below, Flak is a fairly open map with a far more dreary aesthetic than some of the other maps we’ve seen so far. In World War II, these Flak towers were used to protect the enemy from bombing attempts. As such, the design here is totally utilitarian. Dark interiors like this one prove to be a great spot for close-range combat, but once outside, the emphasis is all on verticality. Walls and raised entrances ensure snipers have plenty of room to work with.

The big change here, of course, is that, unlike very vertical maps like Gibraltar, this one is far smaller. Quick movement and even faster deaths will likely be characteristic of this cramped space, and the stream has shown us plenty evidence of that already. It’s got a mid-map focused design with two windows acting as control points.

One of the hallmark new features for Call Of Duty: WWII is a new addition to the CoDCaster suite called Skycam. As seen below, it essentially provides an aerial view of the action in real time. In terms of esports, it means being able to see the spawns, chokepoints and strategies as they unfold. Triangular icons show the angle of each player and viewers are able to see where the clusters happen and how teams adapt to the action. In simplest terms, it’s like a play-by-play football diagram that unfolds alongside the match. It’s not something that’d be used all the time, but it’s a nice visual tool to help make tournaments easier to digest.

In terms of modes, CTF operates just as it always has. The only major rule difference is that in close games where a flag is out, the clock will actually pause and allow the capturing team to potentially return the flag. It’s a chance to create more edge-of-seat moments in a very popular mode.

Flak Tower, Skycam and CTF are exciting reveals, but it’s worth noting that none of these features will be available in the multiplayer Private Beta starting Aug. 25. As noted during Tuesday’s stream, TDM, Dom, Hardpoint and Moshpit will be playable across Pointe Du Hoc, Ardennes Forest and Gibraltar. The objective-based War mode will also be available in a campaign called Operation Breakout.

Call Of Duty: WWII comes to PS4, Xbox One and PC Nov. 3. The beta begins Aug. 25 on PS4 and Sept. 1 on Xbox One.
