Clash Of Clans leaks are a questionable business, and, honestly, we’re not too sure what to make of this one. With that disclaimer out of the way, Chinese fan site CoC.523 has posted images of what appears to be an event celebrating the game’s fifth anniversary. It’s got new troops and spells, and thanks to reddit’s ThatAlvin , we have a full translation.
Keeping the gallery below in mind, here’s everything we’ve learned about the event so far.
ARMY
- Battle Ram: Damage 384, HP 300, Elixir Cost 250, Barbarian Count 4, Training Time 2 minutes.
- Shrink Trap: This trap contains a potion that's been cursed by a Witch. Once activated, troops within the affected radius would shrink, temporarily decreasing their damage and health, also making them look cute. Pretty strong!
- Deep Anti-Trap: (Leak only contains image) Image is of a hole covered in grass that would be activated once a troop steps on it.
- Birthday Boom: Damage 204, Elixir Cost 1,9000, Damage Type Area Damage, Training Space 2, Training Time 6 minutes, Targets Air and Ground.
- 5-Year Anniversary Birthday Cake: (Decoration) Image looks like a chocolate cake with white frosting and red fruits on top with flowers around the cake. A slice has been taken out of the cake. Removal Cost: 25,000 Elixir.
- Present: (Decoration) Looks like a yellow gift box wrapped in a white ribbon. Removal Cost: 25,000 Coins.
- Builder Hut Customization Event: You can customize the look of the Builder Hut and the look of your Builder to be a Barbarian, Giant, Witch or Wizard.
- Training Event: All troops, heroes and spells don't cost to train.
- Icon : A new unknown icon is in the game files. Could possibly relate to the Training Event or the Builder Customization Event.
- Clan Experience and Clan Rewards are going to increase.
- There's a new login screen from the Builder Base with troops around an Army Camp.
As with most leaks, there are reasons to both believe and discredit the information. On the surface this evidence seems fairly plausible, and it lines up with what Supercell has done in the past for holidays and other limited-time events. The new decorations, single troop and single spell motif make this whole package look fairly legit. Several users in the source reddit thread have commented as such, too.
It’s also worth pointing out that, while generally suspicious, similar leaks from unknown sites have been proven correct in the past. Weeks before the Builder Base went live, evidence from China suggested an incoming update with a high-speed Night Mode in a new Village. While it could’ve been a lucky guess, that’s essentially what the Builder Base is.
The only questionable part of this package is that Supercell would allow all troops, heroes and spells to be trained for free, even if it’s just for a few days. That would not only completely upend the battle dynamic in classic modes, but it would also cut into the company’s gem profits too. Then again, given the perceived greediness of the Builder Base and its controversial Clock Tower nerf , that may be a wise concession to make.
Clash Of Clans is available now on Android and iOS. If this anniversary content is genuine, expect it to go live towards the beginning of August.
