There are different ways to serve one's country and Contraband Police is offering everyone the chance to do just that. The game is now available on PC via Steam, currently offered at 12% off until March 24.
The game is set in 1981 and you take on the role of a young officer trainer for the Acarist People's Republic. You've been assigned to work at a border post in the mountainous region of Karikatka. With entry into the country being strictly regulated by the party, your every move is being monitored. However, the situation at the border becomes even more difficult after a comrade is killed during an intervention.
Features of the game include:
- Smuggling detection
- Intelligence regularly provides information about suspicious drivers.
- Search vehicles using a UV flashlight and use the appropriate tools to extract the smuggled goods.
- No amount of contraband should be able to cross the border.
- Shootouts
- Some situations force players to use firearms.
- The station is a constant target for Oberankov's gang attacks.
- Each away mission carries the risk of a clash with the enemy.
- Police chases
- Desperate smugglers may attempt to escape from the control zone.
- You need to remember that it's your duty to stop and arrest them.
- Purchase and upgrade police cars to improve the effectiveness of the pursuit.
- Post management
- Upgrade the police station to increase its defenses and improve subsequent inspections.
- Be mindful of the rising cost of maintaining the station.
- Successful inspections, foiled smuggling, and triumphant interventions are a few ways to earn cash.
- Special assignments
- Always be ready to intervene in an emergency.
- Solve crime puzzles, support comrades, and thwart the Blood Fist rebels.
- Make decisions that determine the future of Acaristan.
