The action-puzzle RPG CrossOver: Roll for Initiative is launching its open beta next week. The game uses some of the features found in typical casual games and combines them into a challenge with elements of strategy, RPG, and puzzle.
For this upcoming open beta, players can look forward to:
- 3 Full Campaigns with each having 7 stages
- All co-op Content
- 7 co-op Scenarios
- Co-op Endless Mode
- Tutorial
- “Something Secret”
The thing about this game is that there's actually a bit of a story on why the player becomes involved. It's late at night in an 80's bedroom, and weird energy starts to fill the air and makes the computer flick oddly. The player brushes it off and rolls up a character sheet for tabletop roleplaying games. A dark portal suddenly appears and little pixel creatures are now trying to cross over into the world.

- The main campaigns include:
- Shops where players can buy armor and items
- RPG progression (earn XP, level up, increase stats)
- Dozens of spells and weapons to find
- Mercenaries to hire
- Random encounters that appear between stages with Fighting Fantasy book style choices.
- Earn persistent gems to unlock more classes/races (15 of each in the game). Gems can also be traded for extra gold during any campaign.
- Try Solo and Co-Op Endless Modes to challenge the Online Leaderboards.
- A Wealth Of Content
- The overall game is made up of multiple Game Modules in various genres. (Fantasy, Sci-fi, WWII, Modern Warfare, Cthulian, etc).
- Fantasy and science fiction are included in the core game and others will be made available later as DLC expansion modules.
- Every Game Module has 7 Campaign Books with each having several Stages to complete.
- Players can also enjoy:
- A procedurally-generated Endless Mode with Online Leaderboard.
- A beautiful art gallery is unlocked for each campaign.
- There is even a full hidden game with its own Online Leaderboard.
