Fans may think that they already know all the major features of Cyberpunk 2077, but seems that developer CD Projekt Red has yet to unveil companions, who will help V throughout the game. In a recent Q&A session with the Russian gaming community, Cyberpunk 2077's quest designer Phillip Weber talked about companions and how V can interact with them.
"There actually are quite a few people you can play different quests with that are very important to the story, and they also come with you on specific missions or just on a drive," Weber explained in the video. "Like Jackie, they'll be very important. There's lots of them, and quite important ones that we haven't shown yet."
Weber further adds that "some of these characters, depending on your choices, you might like and they might like you. And some of those characters might become your enemies. We are making a role-playing game, it's all up to you. Sometimes you might make a friend or a lover, or sometimes you might make an enemy. But it's really important to us to have these characters that can be with you in your story and wherever it makes sense for them to be."
We have previously known about companions in Cyberpunk 2077 and that some of them can be romanced by the player. However, it's exciting to know that there are going to be lots of companions in the game. Weber also states that some companions will be story and mission-related, while others can join the player when freeroaming.
The video Q&A session covers many interesting details about the upcoming sci-fi game. As V, players can eat and drink, but since Cyberpunk 2077 isn't a survival game, eating and drinking isn't necessary. However, choosing to consume special foods can grant additional bonus stats. Moreover, when V is in their apartment, they can choose to turn on the shower, toilet, and even use the mirror to give players an immersive experience.
Cyberpunk 2077 is releasing on November 19 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series S/X, and Stadia.
