Microsoft has announced that starting July 6, the refund policy for Cyberpunk 2077 will return to its standard digital game refund policy. The company offered a short statement regarding Cyberpunk 2077, which said the developer CD Projekt Red "continues to work hard on improving the experience of Cyberpunk 2077 for Xbox players "by shipping many updates. So, players who bought Cyberpunk 2077 on Xbox consoles have a limited time to refund their game before the policy is standardized.
The announcement from Microsoft follows just a day after the game was reinstated on the PlayStation Store. During its release on the previous-gen consoles, it was a disaster because of bugs and underwhelming performance. It's been over six months since Cyberpunk 2077 was released and the developer worked hard fixing the game and released these bug-fixing patches.
Microsoft Standard Refund Policy
In the refund eligibility section on the website, Microsoft stated that all sales of digital game products are considered final. However, the company also acknowledged that sometimes there may be extenuating circumstances. The company further stated that when users request a refund, several factors are taken into consideration including date of purchase, time since release, and use of the product.
Cyberpunk 2077 Performance on PS4 After 6 Months
According to an article, Cyberpunk 2077 overall performance on PS4 is better than before with the game running at a stable 30 FPS. However, it was noted that CD Projekt Red had to sacrifice environmental details to run the game at a stable framerate. Players who aren't sensitive to these details can benefit from the stable 30 FPS gameplay.
There are also complaints on Reddit. Redditor any-name-untaken expressed their discontent with the game and compared the performance between the initial version and the recently patched game version. They wrote, "...I feel the game is borderline unplayable due to excessive stuttering and pop-in."
Cyberpunk 2077 is available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PC, and Google Stadia.
