Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer is now available and with it, you can expect new armor and weapons as well.
Each class has one new exotic armor piece and you can get a couple of weapons as the season progresses.
Exotic Gear
For those of you who are new to the game, Destiny 2’s exotic gear is a piece of special equipment that you can acquire through quests, bounties, lost sectors, season pass rewards, and raids.
They are different due to having special perks. Exotic gear has a yellow background to help you distinguish them from legendary gear.
Because these things provide unique abilities, you can only wear one exotic armor piece and one weapon at a time.
That said, below are all of the exotics that you can acquire this season.
Cryosthesia 77K
The very first exotic weapon that you can acquire in Season of the Splicer is the Cryosthesia 77K. This is a sidearm that has a very interesting twist.
You see, this weapon is equipped in the Kinetic slot but what’s striking is that it deals ice damage, and may freeze targets. Could the Cryosthesia 77K pave the way for more kinetic weapons in the future to deal elemental damage as well? Only time will tell.
This weapon’s first perk is LN2 Burst, which gives you the ability to charge a shot by holding the attack button. This causes Stasis on targets on a successful hit, however, it empties the magazine and forces a reload. The upside is if the charged shot hits, it can trigger Shatter damage to enemies.
Liquid Cooling is the weapon's second perk. This is what LN2 Burst needs and you must fill it by killing targets using the weapon's normal attack.
You can get Cryosthesia 77K by getting the season pass or by reaching rank 35 during season 14. You can also acquire its ornament once you reach rank 100.
The Path of the Burning Steps
This is a titan-exclusive exotic leg armor that can be acquired from special lost sectors in master or legend difficulty. It is also important to keep in mind that you can only get this when you complete the mission by yourself.
You should be on the lookout for these special lost sectors because they are only available at random (they cycle once per day).
The armor’s special perk is Firewalker. When you use Solar abilities or weapons, each kill will increase your weapon damage a little bit. This perk also decreases your chance of getting frozen or slowed down by Stasis attacks.
Star-Eater Scales
This hunter-exclusive exotic leg armor piece can also be acquired from special lost sectors in master or legend difficulty.
The Star-Eater Scales has a pretty good perk called Feast of Light. Every time you get orbs of power, you will gain Super energy. Once your Super bar is full, you’ll get an overcharge that heals you and provides bonus Super damage. Getting the maximum overcharge level will grant you an overshield.
Boots of the Assembler
Also gained from special lost sectors, the Boots of the Assembler is a leg armor specifically made for warlocks.
This armor’s exotic perk is Blessing of Order. Basically, each time you stand on a rift, you will spawn Noble Seekers that will look for your allies and heal them. For every ally healed, both the warlock and that ally will receive a damage buff.
According to a post, each time the seekers find your allies, the duration of your healing rift will increase as well. This is perfect for nightfalls and raids.
Vex Mythoclast
According to a fan-made Destiny database, there is also an exotic weapon that you can get in the Vault of Glass. The said place is a raid dungeon which will be open on May 22. The Vex Mythoclast is an exotic fusion rifle and fans of the original game will know exactly what it is.
Have you acquired some of these items in Destiny 2: Season of the Splicer?
