Destiny 2 has a pre-order Exotic, and it’s called Coldheart. As revealed in the latest edition of IGN First, the weapon will be available across all platforms at launch. However, only those who reserve the game early will be able to get it at that time.

As those who have followed Destiny 2 closely will know, this reveal technically isn’t the first time we’ve seen the Coldheart weapon model. It was also shown in the gameplay section first seen during the title’s May debut. IGN got an exclusive deep dive into how this gun operates, and it sounds pretty awesome.

Building on the extensive lore of the Omolon foundry, this is a new kind of weapon called a trace rifle. It will be the only gun of its kind when Destiny 2 launches in September, but if it’s appreciated by the community, it could become the basis for an entirely new archetype. Coldheart appropriately shoots a concentrated ice beam at opposing players. The longer the beam is active, the more damage it deals out. There will of course be recoil associated with the most extensive beams, but that’s where the element of skill comes in. It will be a gun that’s easy to learn but tough to master.

As lame as it sounds to tie such a cool gun down to pre-orders, that’s thankfully not the whole story. Taking a quick glance at the Coldheart trailer reveals fine print suggesting it will be available to all players through general gameplay around Dec. 5. While not proven, that would position the gun’s official arrival pretty well alongside Destiny 2’s first major DLC drop that leaks have suggested could be in December. Might Coldheart be officially related to the highly anticipated Osiris expansion? That sounds likely to us.

Even though that quick glimpse told us a lot about Coldheart in very little time, there’s also plenty we still don’t know. While our DLC theory sounds pretty solid once the final version goes public, how will this Exotic be delivered to pre-order folks? Will it be given away instantly, or will there be some kind of quest associated with obtaining it? In terms of its ice powers, does that mean ice will be a new element that players will have to strategize around? That much isn’t made clear, but we can’t wait to find out.

The Coldheart wasn’t the only new pre-order bonus to be revealed on Wednesday, though. We also got a quick glimpse at something Bungie calls the Kill-Tracker Ghost. It appears it will be offered alongside deluxe, limited and collector’s edition bonuses, as well as those from Sony’s PlayStation Network. True to its name, the Kill-Tracker Ghost is a type of Ghost that keeps track of your in-game performance. While the specifics weren’t necessarily explained, it would appear that others will be able to examine your Ghost and see some of your greatest achievements.

Destiny 2 is available on PS4 and Xbox One Sept. 6. It comes to PC Oct. 24.
