Episode 3 of the Cape Talk superhero podcast i s now up. In this week’s show your hosts Autumn Kelly and Phillip Martinez talk about the glowing Wonder Woman movie reviews and Autumn’s recent trip to East Coast Black Age of Comics Convention in Philadelphia, where she spoke with the creator of the DC Comics hero, Black Lightning.
Wonder Woman is getting mostly positive reviews, even becoming certified fresh on Rotten Tomatoes. It also seems Wonder Woman will break DC Entertainment’s streak of films that are critically and (mostly) audience panned.
Phil and Autumn are excited to watch Wonder Woman over the weekend and be sure to watch Cape Talk Episode 4 for our review and reaction to the film.
Autumn took a trip to Philadelphia to attend ECBACC (10:15). That’s where she spoke to Black Lightning creator Tony Isabella i n an informal chat regarding his upcoming run for the Black Lightning comic at DC Comics and his thoughts on the first trailer for the upcoming CW show.
Isabella also gave Autumn some insider knowledge about how DC’s Legends of Tomorrow became a series and it apparently didn’t take much to convince the TV execs.
The Cape Talk crew also segued into the FOX series Gotham (24:18) and how a crazy fan theory has popped up, putting the show into perspective and posing the question: is Gotham really a show about Batman?
We learn that Autumn has a strong love for owls and that Phil needs to catch up watching the Netflix/Marvel series (33:40) before The Defenders releases.
Cape Talk premieres every Friday. Let us know what you think of this episode and the show as a whole in the comments section below.
