The Division 2’s Dark Hours raid is without a doubt difficult, and it has been an issue players have been complaining about. Console players, in particular, are greatly affected by it. Unfortunately, the game’s developer, Massive Entertainment, said that adjusting the challenge is not part of their plans for now.
The Dark Hours raid was launched last week. For PC players to complete it, they had to work for at least five hours to cross the finish line. Interestingly, the story is completely different with console players. PS4 and Xbox One gamers were unable to complete the raid until the third day it was made available.
As of press time, there are about 7,000 PC players who have managed to complete the Dark Hours raid in the game. As far as console players (both in PS4 and Xbox One) are concerned, there are only 200 of them.
The difference in numbers certainly made fans outrage, with some of them requesting a number of changes to the raid’s difficulty in The Division 2. Ubisoft responded to the request, commenting “It is not outside the realm of possibility that tweaks will be made moving forward."
Massive Entertainment, on the other hand, responded with a different narrative. The developer announced that there are currently no plans being made to adjust the challenge in the Dark Hours raid. During this week’s State of the Game for the video game title, community developer Chris Gansler said that while the development team is fond of listening to player feedback and requests, this one is totally different. Sure, they are ready to make changes to other aspects of The Division 2, but not this one instance.
“We’ve heard rumours about us changing the raid difficulty… there are currently no plans to change that,” said Gansler. “We know the raid is harder on consoles, but we are happy with where we’re at.”
Apparently, the decision follows another that suggests the game will not introduce a matchmaking system. And this despite Ubisoft’s promise earlier to include such a system for all of the activities in The Division 2. Well, this is definitely a bummer.
