All the regional qualifiers for the Dota 2 ESL One Los Angeles are finally done. The last qualifiers to finish were for the China region, which brought in three teams. This is the third Majors of the 2019-2020 DPC Season. This being a Major, there are a total of 15,000 DPC points up for grabs along with a prize pool worth $1 million.
Most of the regional qualifiers were held last week, and there were some exciting highlights. Over in Europe, for example, OG and Team Secret both showed dominance and easily secured spots. Ninjas in Pyjamas managed to take the last spot for the region. Moving to CIS, it was Natus Vincere and Virtus.pro, though this wasn’t much of a surprise.
Heading over to North America, it was Evil Geniuses all the way as well. The team secured a spot and lost only one game overall. Chaos Esports Club managed to get the other spot for the region. In South America, beastcoast appeared to have made a good decision as it got the second spot for the Majors. The top spot went to Thunder Predator.
The biggest surprise would have to be the SEA region. Fnatic getting a spot was rather expected. What was surprising was TNC Predator not being able to make it through the qualifiers. The team hasn’t fared well in recent tournaments. You can read more about TNC’s woes here. The other two spots went to Geek Fam and Team Androit.
That said, let’s head over to the China region. The region just finished its qualifiers, and like with the other regions, the results were pretty much expected. Invictus Gaming ended the Group Stage at the top and managed a 2-0 win against Team Aster to secure a spot at the Majors. The second spot went to Royal Never Give Up. RNG also led its group and beat out EHOME 2-0.
The final spot would be the winner of the Team Aster/EHOME fight. Both games were rather close, but both times EHOME took the victory and the right to be at the Majors.
