The Regional Qualifiers for the upcoming Dota 2 ESL One Mumbai 2019 has come to a close, and five teams are now ready to join the tournament.
For the North America Qualifier, J.Storm stood on top and dominated the field. In the playoffs, J.Storm went undefeated, beating out Team Xolotl in the Upper Bracket Round 1 and Flying Penguins in the Upper Bracket Finals. J.Storm would meet Flying Penguins in the Grand Finals and the story would be the same as their initial match.
The Southeast Asia Qualifier saw TNC take the top spot. TNC beat out PG.Barrack, Genuine Gaming, and defeated 496 Gaming 3-1 in the Grand Finals. TNC enters ESL One Mumbai with some roster changes. Carlo “Kuku” Palad is now back with the team after taking a leave. Michael “ninjaboogie” Ross Jr. has left the team. This means Kuku has taken on the role of new team captain. Temporarily filling in and completing the team will be Nico “eyyou” Barcelon.
The Europe Qualifier was won by The Pango, who would initially face Team Jekich in Round 1 of the Upper Bracket. As Upper Bracket winner, The Pango had a 1-0 advantage, but Team Jekich won the first game. The Pango ended up taking the second and third games.
The China Qualifier went the way of Keen Gaming. Keen Gaming did not give Royal Never Give Up a chance in the Grand Finals, winning the first game in under 20 minutes and the second one in around 16 minutes.
WIth the India Qualifier, Signify took the top spot. Receiving a direct invite, the team would beat Coming Soon 2-1 and then move to the Grand Finals with a 2-0 win against ROG Titans. In the Grand Finals, Signify faced Coming Soon again, and came out on top.
The five team will join seven other teams who have received direct invites. So far, the direct invitees are Ninjas in Pyjamas, Alliance, Gambit Esports, and compLexity Gaming. There have been no announcements yet as to who the remaining three teams will be.
The ELS One Mumbai 2019 will be held beginning April 19 until April 21 at the NSCI Dome in Mumbai.
