There's no doubt that CD Projekt Red has made a name for itself in the gaming industry. The developer gave us The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which is regarded as one of the best games of all time. So, fans generally assume that whatever CD Projekt Red might be working on, it'll undoubtedly be an amazing game. This is quite evident seeing all the hype around Cyberpunk 2077, which is releasing on November 19.
However, fans will be excited to know that the developers who worked on The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt are currently working on a new sci-fi game called The Invincible. Some ex-CD Projekt Red devs teamed together to create a new studio called Starward Industries. The studio is comprised of some of the industry's best talent, including those who worked on The Witcher, Cyberpunk 2077, Dead Island, and Dying Light.
The Invincible is a game that the studio is currently developing. The game is said to be set in an alternate universe where the Cold War did not end and humans developed advanced space exploration machines. The game will feature an atompunk tone and it is also said to have been inspired by Stanislaw Lem's novels. Stanislaw Lem is known for interweaving science fiction and philosophical ideas in his novels. We guess that The Invincible certainly has an interesting take when it comes to the game's setting. But, that's not all. Starward Industries had more to say about how the game will play.
In an interview with PCGamesN, The Invincible's project lead, Marek Markuszewsk, said, "the gameplay is quite diverse." The developer further added that players can expect "exploration, navigation, face to face discussions with NPCs, operating various equipment which is all analogue, solving clues, interacting with robots, piloting drones, crunching data, even driving vehicles." When it comes to the game's atmosphere, Markuszewsk said that "in terms of gameplay and atmosphere, the closest game I can think of is Alien: Isolation."
The invincible is currently in development and it is expected to launch in 2021.
