Fallout 76 is testing out a new seasonal event and it’s something out of this world. The Invaders from Beyond update has mysterious beings from outer space arrive in the Appalachia and try to steal the brainwaves from everyone. Everyone must work together and fight this alien scum and send them back to where they came from before they finish their research.
It’s now available in the Public Test Server with the development team waiting for feedback and bug reports from those willing to do some playtesting.
Here are the details of this seasonal event:
- Every hour on the hour an Alien Mothership appears above one of several high-profile Appalachian locations to deploy three Brainwave Siphons in the area.
- Players need to travel to the Mothership’s location and examine Siphon Kappa to start the event.
- Once the event begins, players must destroy all three Brainwave Siphons, one after the other, before the aliens can complete their Brainwave Extraction process.
- Each Siphon is protected by a force field, which is controlled by a different Alien Commander.
- Defeat alien forces to draw out the Commander for each Siphon.
- Take out the Commander and the force field drops. This allows players to destroy the Siphon.
- Those able to destroy all three Brainwave Siphons in time get some loot, XP, and a chance to earn plans to craft new alien weaponry and C.A.M.P. objects.
- As long as this seasonal event is live, players may encounter extraterrestrial interlopers at select Public Events, including Campfire Tales, Free Range, and Line in the Sand.
- Players can also spot the aliens in the new Random Encounters.
Fallout Worlds
The seasonal event is set to arrive through an update that will also make changes to Fallout Worlds. One of these is that players can now earn S.C.O.R.E. from non-repeatable Daily and Weekly Challenges while playing in Public and Custom Worlds.
There are also some new settings that Fallout 1st members can try out for Custom Worlds in PTS. An example is “Carry Weight,” which sets the maximum weight that a player can carry. Meanwhile, “Perk Effects” have players benefit from Normal Perk effects, Legendary Perk effects, both, or neither.

Fallout 76 is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
