If you’re one of those excited with the upcoming Wastelanders update for Fallout 76, it seems that you’re going to need to wait a little longer. The release date has been moved one week from April 7 to April 14.
According to Bethesda, the current situation has resulted in many of those on the team transitioning to remote work while also limiting in-person interactions. While this has changed the way things work at the studio, the critical services involved in the live games continue to operate. Bethesda said in a post that they’ve “done everything we can to minimize the delay and can’t wait for everyone to play.”
Don’t be too sad though, as when Wastelanders does eventually launch it’s going to introduce two new events.
The first is Radiation Rumble which is located in the Emmett Mountain Disposal Site. Here scavengers are planning to gather as much ore as they can and have found themselves being cornered by some deadly glowing creatures. While they can defend themselves with a few turrets they’ve brought, they need something with the right amount of firepower in order to get out.
In this Public Event, players need to be in two places at once. While they need to defend scavengers from different enemies, they also need to take some time to get some irradiated ore. Why the need to gather, you ask? The more ore collected, the better the rewards received. Players need to be reminded that if all scavengers are taken out then there’s going to be no one to pay them.
This Event requires Dwellers who are at least level 50+ and need to come up with a team to maximize the rewards.
The second event is Riding Shotgun and this is for those who want to try out being a bodyguard. Just head on over to the Big Bend Tunnel East and make sure that a group of merchants are able to make it through the mountains. The Blue Ridge Caravan Co. has made the decision to use this route instead of the steep cliffs present in the Savage Divide. However, the merchants and their Brahmin are having some difficulty with all the Blood Eagles. These Blood Eagles aren’t just there randomly, as they know every nook and cranny of the tunnel.
There’s going to be a pair of Brahmin that need to be protected and even if only one of them makes it through, players and their team get rewarded with some loot, Caps, and XP. It’s not just all protection, as players also need to look for supplies that have been lost in the previous attempts to make it through this route.
Hopefully the news of two new events arriving should be able to tide you over with the delay of the update’s release.
