Princess Maker 2 is a classic among royalty sim fans, and its long-delayed English-language release is finally on its way. Watch the trailer for Princess Maker 2: Refine Edition below:

Developed by Studio Gainax of Neon Genesis Evangelion and FLCL fame, Princess Maker 2 sees you assume a role as guardian to a young, Heaven-sent child. You must help her grow into the best ruler she can be by upping her stats through a variety of classes and adventures, guiding her through her childhood to young adulthood.

With 74 possible outcomes based on your success in tutoring her, she can become anything from Ruling Queen to Bar Wench to Princess of Darkness. She can also marry anyone, from her butler to the Prince of Hell… to you, her erstwhile guardian and protector!

Yeah, the “raising-up” genre can be kind of weird sometimes. You can also offer her items like a “Buxomize pill” when she’s older and adjust her diet so she loses weight and can fit into stat-boosting dresses. I know, I know. It is still a ridiculously fun game if you’re into that kind of thing, and the game’s been out so long that there are plenty of guides to help you achieve your desired outcome.

Princess Maker 2 was first launched in Japan back in 1993 and gets its final official English-language launch courtesy of Studio Gainax and Korean games publisher CFK. The Refine edition includes full color graphics and art design, full Japanese voice overs for all in-game characters (including low-key fave, the little butler Cube), Steam Achievements and Trading Cards.

Princess Maker 2 Refine launches on Windows PC via Steam on Oct. 3 at $19.99. Pre-orders start Sept. 26 and include a 20 percent discount. Will you be picking it up? Feel free to talk awesome royalty sims in the comments section below.
