If you saw the earlier announcement about the October 2017 Games With Gold for Xbox One owners, that was #FakeNews. Xbox’s Major Nelson has announced the real games, and they aren’t as exciting as the faked line-up was. That said, there are still some good games this month, so let’s dive on in.
Xbox One
The first free game coming to Xbox One October is Gone Home. This game isn’t so much a game as an experience. I don’t want to spoil anything, but Gone Home is definitely worth playing at least once, so make sure you download it from Oct. 1 to Oct. 31.
The second game for Xbox One owners is The Turing Test. This puzzle game, from the creators of previous GwG entry Pneuma: Breath of Life, is set in space. Abandoned on the surface of Jupiter's moon Europa, players must solve puzzles to help others survive and make it back home. The Turing Test will be free from Oct. 16 to Nov. 15.
Xbox 360
The first game for Xbox 360 (and Xbox One via Backward Compatibility) is Rayman 3 HD. Available from Oct. 1 to Oct. 15, Rayman 3 HD features some 3D platforming and combat against the Black Lum Andre and his army of Hoodlums. It’s up to Rayman to stop the invasion of evil Lums from taking over the world.
The last game for the month of October is Medal of Honor: Airborne. Players join the ranks of the paratroopers during World War 2, dropped down from the sky straight into combat. Do you choose to land right in the middle of the action, or stay on the outside and go for a more stealth route? The choice is yours when Medal of Honor: Airborne is free to download from Oct. 16 to Oct. 31.
So what do you think? Are you excited to play any of the games coming for free this month to Xbox Live Gold subscribers? Were you more excited about the fake leak? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
