Just a few months ago, Origin PC revealed its overpowered custom desktop that is a combination of a PC and a game console. The custom desktop was called the Big O. This custom desktop was supposed to be a one-off build, but now Origin PC has decided to build more for enthusiasts.
Over the years, Origin PC has built several custom-hybrid PCs and the Big O is the most recent iteration. If we had the money to pick up this beast, we would in a heart beat. But, there are few things that you must know before shelling out all your money on the Big O. The Big O that Origin PC has decided to build for the masses is quite different from the original Big O that was showcased a few months ago. The original Big O contained a PS4 Pro, Xbox One X, and Nintendo Switch. However, if you're going to order the Big O that's available for purchase, you will have to settle with either the PS4 Pro or Xbox One S.
It is somewhat disappointing that the Big O did not give the option for the Xbox One X, which is much powerful than the Xbox One S and supports 4K gaming.
Here is the confirmed specs for the Big O:
- CPU—Intel Core i5-9600K
- Motherboard—ASRock Z390M Pro4
- Cooling—Origin Frostbite 120 all-in-one liquid cooler
- RAM—16GB Corsair Vengeance DDR4-3000
- GPU—GeForce GTX 1660 Super
- Storage—240GB Corsair Force MP510 M.2 NVMe SSD
- PSU—450W Corsair SFX series
- OS—Windows 10 Home
Almost everything on this PC can be upgraded, which will also increases the total cost of this beast of a machine. Origin PC bundled together all these components in a stylish Corsair Crystal 280X case. Origin PC opted for this specific case because of its dual-chamber design, which allows a console to be tucked inside.
The fun part is that the console itself is not inside the Big O. The console components have been removed and are fit inside the Big O case. Moreover, neither of the two consoles include a disk drive. Just like the PC components, the consoles are also liquid-cooled within the case.
The Big O is not only built to play games, it is also a powerful content creation machine. Included in every Big O computer is a built-in Elgato capture card to record gameplay footage.
The Big O is available to order now, and the base model that comes with an Xbox One S costs $2500. Upgrading to the PS4 Pro adds an extra $146.
