After making quite the noise when it was first revealed and subsequently labeled as a Breath of the Wild clone, developer miHoYo has finally announced a release date for its open-world action adventure game Genshin Impact. In a Twitter post, miHoYo announced Genshin Impact will release for PC, iOS and Android on September 28. The developer also previously announced that the game’s PlayStation 4 version will be out this fall. Check out the tweet from miHoYo below.
Those interested in playing Genshin Impact can now sign up for pre-registration on the game’s official website for PC, as well as the App Store for iOS devices and Google Play for Android. - At one million pre-registrations, players will receive five Cream Stew and 10 Fine Enhancement Ore

- At two million pre-registrations, players will receive two Acquaint Fate
- At three million pre-registrations, players will receive four Acquaint Fate
Social media milestones are also detailed, which are based on the number of subscribers and likes Genshin Impact receives on both YouTube and Facebook, respectively.
- With 150,000 subscribers on YouTube, players will receive two Acquaint Fate.
- With 100,000 likes on Facebook, players will receive two Acquaint Fate.
In addition to these milestones, miHoYo will also be holding giveaways for those who invite their friends to pre-registration. Prizes include AirPods Pro earphones, Genshin Impact mouse mats, and Amazon, Google and Apple gift cards each worth $15.
In a nutshell, Genshin Impact is a combat-driven open-world action adventure game that focuses on elemental tropes in terms of strengths and weaknesses. The game’s comparisons to Breath of the Wild (and the rather embarrassing meltdowns caused by it) comes from the game’s massive open world and graphics style, although saying that Genshin Impact copies the former is rather disingenuous. The game also features a co-op mode for those looking to explore the open world with their friends.
Genshin Impact is set to be released for PC, iOS and Android devices on September 28, followed by a PlayStation 4 version later this fall. A Switch version is also currently in the works.
