Version 3.1 update for Genshin Impact is coming this September 28. Titled "King Deshret and the Three Magi," it'll introduce a desert area. Players can also look forward to three new playable characters, more stories, events, mini-games, and of course, rewards.
The new desert area is in Sumeru, and unlike the tropical rainforest, it has a stark and dangerous beauty. That's because in the heart of the desert lies the Mausoleum of King Deshret, along with dungeons containing puzzles, mechanisms, and robotic guardians powered by ancient technologies of the perished god and his ancient civilization.
This desert also serves as the home to Aaru Village, considered the largest settlement of the desert people and a safe harbor for exiled scholars. As players delve into the desert area, Sumeru's Archon Quest continues to unfold, especially as more factions make their appearances. These include the two Fatui Harbingers, Il Dottore, and Scaramouche.
New Boss Enemies
With the new update, players can encounter new boss enemies, which are two mechanical monstrosities powered by unknown technologies. The first is the Algorithm of Semi-Intransient Matrix of Overseer Network, serving as the leader of the mechanics guarding the Mausoleum of King Deshret. This new boss can become invisible in combat. The second Boss Enemy is Aeonblight Drake, challenging players in the rainforest with its unique attack patterns.
New Playable Characters
Players can also look forward to three Sumeru characters that can be recruited for their teams. These are:
- Nilou
- A five-star Hydro playable character that combines her elegant dance moves with swordsmanship.
- General Mahamatra Cyno
- Ready for combat as a five-star Electro polearm wielder.
- Candace
- A half-blood descendant of King Deshret.
- Debuts as the guardian of the Desertfolk and Aaru Village.
- Wields her Hydro Vision and a polearm.
Annual Weinlesefest
Out in Mondstadt, the annual Weinlesefest is a time to brew and taste the wine of the year with the Anemo Archon. Players get the chance to reunite with friends in Mondstadt and help Razor learn more about his past. The Weinlesefest features a major limited-time seasonal event and four different mini-games.
Players can redeem different rewards, including a new four-star weapon, Missive Windspear, along with its exclusive refinement materials, by getting Festive Fever through mini-games.
Genshin Impact is available on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Android, and iOS.
