Ghostrunner is an upcoming futuristic ninja game that is releasing on October 27. Recently, developer One More Level announced that Ghostrunner will also be launching on the Nintendo Switch, and now there's more exciting news for console gamers who will be switching to either the PS5 or the Xbox Series X. It has been confirmed that Ghostrunner will also be launching on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S as a free upgrade for those who buy the current-gen version.
It seems that One More Level is sticking to the trend that many other developers have been following. However, it has to be noted that the next-gen upgrade of Ghostrunner will not available until next year. One More Level hasn't confirmed the exact release date for the upgrade yet.
From what we have seen and based on what we know about the game, Ghostrunner seems similar to Mirror's Edge. Both games feature a first-person view and parkour elements. In Ghostrunner, you assume the role of a ninja/assassin, who discovers that his city is under the tyrannical control of The Keymaster. It's up to you to ascend the Dharma city tower, clear anyone who stands in your way, and kill The Keymaster.
Last month, Ghostrunner also held a private beta for users by selecting a few participants from its Discord server. The developer asked the participants to sign a non-disclosure agreement, which prevents them from sharing details of the game before launch.
Ghostrunner is currently available to pre-order on all available platforms, including PS4, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, Epic Games Store, and GOG. Currently, the game is also on a 20% discount if you pre-order before October 26. Steam users can download a free demo for Ghostrunner to get a taste of the game.
