We don’t know much about the rebooted God of War, but new Kratos voice actor Chris Judge may have just accidentally revealed the release window for the game.
As seen in Judge’s Twitter bio, the actor mentions playing Kratos in God of War (2017). This doesn’t necessarily confirm that God of War will be coming this year, seeing as how the developers could hit delays or something else, but it does seem to be pretty good information by someone in the know.
If a 2017 release is true, it’s likely a new trailer will debut at Sony’s E3 press conference this June. The trailer will announce a release date for some time this October or November. Gameplay footage will then be released over the following few days during interviews and hands-on events.
That scenario is a guess, but also feels right for God of War. The last game developer Sony Santa Monica shipped was God of War: Ascension back in 2013. While time was spent helping other studios with projects, the new God of War has had four years now. That should be enough time to have something to show.
To know for sure, we’ll just have to wait and see what Sony has to show at this year’s E3.
So what do you think? Do you want to see God of War coming out this year? Do you think there will be a new trailer at this year’s E3? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
