Back in 2019, CD Projekt Red confirmed that musician Grimes will be involved in Cyberpunk 2077. She will be providing voice over for multiple characters like Lizzy Wizzy, the frontwoman of Lizzy Wizzy and the Metadwarves. She will also provide music that will be used in the soundtrack of the game. Other than this, CD Projekt Red didn’t reveal any new information about her role. At The Game Awards 2019, Grimes promoted Cyberpunk 2077 by performed 4ÆM. You can watch the performance below:
Recently, Grimes appeared on a live stream in order to promote her latest album, Miss Anthropocene. However, she accidentally spilled the beans about the background of the character Lizzy Wizzy. This next paragraph has spoilers regarding the character so only read if you want minor Cyberpunk 2077 spoilers.
The actual Livestream has been removed from YouTube, but Redditor Ros96 transcribed the important part: "I did my voice acting for Lizzy Wizzy, that game is going to be fucking good. I mean I haven’t played it, but I saw someone play an hour of the game. The game was fantastic, and I play a pop star who committed suicide on stage, and they had to quickly come and perform emergency surgery and replace her whole body with cybernetics while she was dead for an hour and then she finished the show as a cyborg. One of the greatest pieces of performance art ever made."
All of this feels very possible in the Cyberpunk universe. This info has not been confirmed by CD Projekt Red, but given that this came directly from Grimes we can assume that it’s accurate. Looks like Cyberpunk 2077's soundtrack is going to be rock solid just like The Witcher 3. We will be able to enjoy the game and the music from Grimes on September 17. The game will launch on PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.
