Halo Infinite is one of the biggest games this year. The game is officially scheduled to launch on December 8 on Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. But yesterday, Microsoft gave a small gift to the fans.
During the Xbox 20th Anniversary Event, 343 Industries came up on stage then announced that the beta of Halo Infinite multiplayer mode is going live. The MP beta is currently available on both PC and Xbox.
High Player Count on Steam
The game’s surprise release has been very successful. Halo Infinite had a little more than 270,000 players on Steam alone, not counting the players playing on PC via Game Pass or Microsoft Store. We also don’t know how many players played the MP mode on Xbox consoles.
Season 1 Now Live
The developer emphasized that this is a beta release of the multiplayer mode, so expect some bugs here and there. They also announced that Season 1 of Infinite has officially begun. Your progress will carry forward when the game’s released on December 8.
Season 1 will end in May 2022, making it last around six months. The developer wants to take their time to deliver a solid Season 2 while also keeping their employees safe. Check out the official blog post for more information.
Single-player Mode
The highly anticipated single-player mode will be released as planned. We have to wait less than a month to continue the journey of Master Chief. This time, Halo is taking some major risks where the level is very open-ended, letting players decide how they wanna handle the objective. This could work or blowback on their face. I guess we will know soon enough.
I am looking forward to the campaign of Halo Infinite. This holiday, we don’t have any good campaigns from FPS games. Call of Duty Vanguard’s campaign was underwhelming, and Battlefield 2042 doesn’t even offer one.
