It's all about secrets and sabotage as Hearts of Iron IV introduces its latest expansion with La Résistance. This newest expansion adds a new espionage system. In addition, it also increases the range of options and interactions with resistance movements in occupied territory. La Résistance is scheduled to be released in 2020.

- Use your own Intelligence Agency in order to train spies and have them specialize in certain types of information warfare while developing passive resistance to enemy espionage.
- Support Resistance
- Use your agents to help allied resistance movements and give them what they need to damage the enemy.
- Collaboration Governments
- Use you agents to set-up the ground for collaborators to fill the gap once you've managed to conquer your target.
- Code Cracking
- Decrypt enemy communications in order to get short term advantages on the battlefield.
- Recon Units
- Use scout planes to go to nearby areas and get useful information.
- Use armored cars to detect and suppress resistance activities.
The release of the La Résistance expansion also marks the release of an accompanying free update for Hearts of Iron IV that is available to all players. The update is expected to include a rework of the resistance system and interface improvements to battleplans and air operations, as well as many other quality of life improvements.
Hearts of Iron IV is a grand strategy video game that was released worldwide in 2016. It is the fourth installment in the Hearts of Iron series and a sequel to 2009's Hearts of Iron III. The game, like its predecessors, focus mainly on World War II. Players take the role of any nation during 1936 or 1939 in single player or multiplayer options. This being a World War II game, it is not designed to go past 1948. The game is developed by Paradox Development Studio and published by Paradox Interactive.
