A new Horizon Zero Dawn patch is out this week, featuring a smattering of new unlockables, a pair of a new trophies and the long-awaited New Game+ mode that’s been requested frequently in the months since Aloy charged onto PS4. There’s even a new difficulty (Ultra Hard) in Horizon Zero Dawn v1.30, for anyone making short work of the game’s robotic bestiary at lower settings.
Most of the changes implemented by this week’s patch address bugs encountered by the HZD community. A pair of quests with progression-blocking bugs have been fixed by Guerrilla, along with an error that caused the quest log to disappear after completing Cauldron Zeta. This week’s Horizon Zero Dawn update also gives players a chance to revisit Aloy’s story without sacrificing the experience and equipment gathered during the first playthrough. And if New Game+ isn’t enough, the game’s hardest difficulty setting yet (Ultra Hard) is out this week too. There are even new trophies, one for finishing the game on New Game+ and another for completing NG+ on the hardest difficulty, for anyone who needed an incentive to return to Horizon Zero Dawn.
The good news, for all your Platinum hunters out there, is that neither of the new trophies must be earned to receive the game’s top honors. We’re not expecting to see many people with the trophy for finishing the game on New Game+ while Ultra Hard difficulty is enabled. And it looks like someone(s) at Guerrilla reached a similar conclusion when deciding how to implement the new milestones. But perhaps the Horizon Zero Dawn community will surprise us.
Here are the complete patch notes for Horizon Zero Dawn v1.30:

GENERAL FIXES
Fixed an issue for some players in “The Looming Shadow” where two guards would disappear after Blameless Marad speaks to them.
Fixed an issue for certain players with the Lodge Ropecaster where the Ropecaster’s anchors that are automatically shot in the ground would not lock into the terrain while shooting from a crouched position.
Fixed an issue for some players where bandit camps would incorrectly display as ‘Undiscovered’ within the world map if the player had cleared all bandit camps.
Fixed an issue with “Cauldron Zeta” where for some players the quest log would disappear after completing the quest.
Fixed an issue that some players encountered with the animations of Aloy. When the player would perform a melee attack and use the Focus almost simultaneously, it would cause Aloy’s upper body to twist unnatural for a moment.
Fixed an issue with the humanoid scream and attack indicators.
Fixed an issue in “Deep Secrets of the Earth” where for some players the data points in Sobeck’s office were not obtainable if the player wanted to pick them after the explosion caused by Helis, as they had disappeared.
Fixed an issue with the Tearblaster statistics being incorrectly displayed in the weapon wheel.
PROGRESSION ISSUE FIXES
Fixed an issue in “Field of the Fallen” where for some players Erend would not appear when the quest objective is ‘Talk to Erend’ and thus blocking progression of this quest.
Fixed an issue in “The City of the Sun” where some players might teleport through the protester scene, blocking progression as Erend would not open the door to Olin’s apartment.
CRASH FIXES
Fixed miscellaneous crashes.
