There have been a lot of games where players get to build stuff. The upcoming game Horror Tycoon is bringing something new to the table: a combination of tycoon and tower defense game elements.
Horror Tycoon has players experience the excitement of creating their ultimate haunted house. The twist is that the goal isn’t to make visitors happy but instead to kill them.
Some of the game’s features include:
- Build
- Build walls, doorways, trap doors, fake walls, and more to guide guests through the haunted attraction maze.
- Build pre-built hallways and rooms for those who are feeling rushed to build or want to experiment with different themes.
- Customize
- Decorate the haunted attraction with the likes of lighting effects, ghostly paintings, and spooky props.
- Pick the colors to best scare guests.
- Scare
- Place scare traps along the way from ghosts to aliens and everything in between.
- Buy new attractions with fear reputation.
- Be careful since the more of the same attractions there are and the closer they are to each other could result in a negative effect on the guests and not be as scary.
- Be Prepared
- Make sure that the attraction is ready for the next wave of guests and then prepare to see if all the planning pays off.
- Watch the profits roll in and see the fear reputation increase with every wave of visitors.
- See how much more guests can withstand by monitoring the glowsticks they wear around their necks.
- Be Sinister
- The further players progress the more they need to work to scare guests.
- Sinister traps are truly the stuff of nightmares as players can make guests disappear from the living and join the dead.
By the way, players need to earn enough scare reputation to progress in the game. What it does is allow them to move to a new location and take on new and unique challenges. Locations include:
- Backyard Haunt
- The Forest
- The Old Factory
- Abandoned Schoolhouse
- Circus
- Closed Hospital
- Blighted Commercial Plaza
- Abandoned Amusement Park
