It’s that time of year again, folks. Bethesda’s E3 2017 press conference will take place Sunday, June 11, at 9 p.m. PT / 12 a.m. ET June 12. The studio will livestream the event via their official Twitch channel.
It wouldn’t be an E3 press conference if there isn’t some kind of speculation about what games the studio will show. A now deleted Reddit post claimed Bethesda would announce a new IP called Starfield. It appears to be a Skyrim-like, open-world game that is possibly set in space. Bethesda filed for a “Starfield” trademark in 2013, and renewed it last February, according Games Radar. However, the IP is just a rumor and Bethesda has yet to confirm its existence.
There are also rumblings Bethesda will announce a new Wolfenstein game during their conference. The rumors began to spread after Wolfenstein: The New Order voice actor Brian Bloom did an interview with TwoLeftSticks. Bloom’s comments led some to believe the rumored New Colossus was in development, according to Gamespot.
"If you look at Bethesda's E3 2016 lineup there was a title hinted at in a cool way," Bloom said. "It sparked a bit of wildfire. That subtle, very simple DOS language, going through the titles. Perhaps we're working on that as we speak."
Of course we’ll likely see Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind , Fallout VR and possibly some announcement regarding The Evil Within franchise. Again, Bethesda has yet to comment on what they will reveal during their E3 2017 showcase, but Bethesda Game Studios game director Todd Howard did tease during an interview with Polygon back in February the studio is gearing up for bigger, better games.
“We have so many ideas that we didn't think we were ready for. But given our size now and how the tech is coming together, we can do some of the things that we've talked about for a very long time. Now they are within our grasp,” Howard said.
