There are two big shark-related events happening starting the next few days. The first is Discovery's annual Shark Week returning this July 23, followed by the Meg 2: The Trench opening in theaters on August 4. These two events are making their presence felt in Hungry Shark World with some truly "fintastic" content.
Shark Week
While Shark Week is still days away, Hungry Shark World is now celebrating the events until August 3. Players should see Discovery Shark Week 2023 branding in the form of themed accessories, including Shark Week towel, flag, lanyard, and hat. That's not all since from July 18 to July 22, all in-game levels are unlocked. Plus, from July 18 to July 29, selected sharks get health and speed upgrades.
The Meg Returns
Meg 2: The Trench stars Jason Statham and Wu Jing. They're joined by an ensemble cast, including Sophia Cai, Page Kennedy, Sergio Peris-Menchata, Skyler Samuels, and Cliff Curtis. The film focuses on a team of scientists who decided to dive into the deepest depths of the ocean and now must face off against multiple Megs.
The film is going to be featured in-game from July 24 to August 7, so expect to see Meg 2: The Trench billboards. Players can also look forward to a new in-game event known as Meg vs. Kraken. In this one, there are alternating events every two days where they get to play either as The Megalodon or The Kraken. Depending on the event, they'll need to eat as many sharks as they can within a certain time or do what they can to survive for as long as possible. In addition, from July 30 to August 6, the Megalodon shark gets increased stats.
Hungry Shark World is available free-to-download on Android and iOS devices. Players can choose from more than 40 species of sharks divided into eight different size tiers. There are huge open worlds to explore, including the Pacific Islands, frozen Arctic Ocean, and exotic Arabian Sea. While there are lots of delicious creatures waiting to be eaten, there are also dangerous ones to avoid like submarines.
