Best Buy is currently holding a sale on Apple products right now, with the consumer electronics giant offering discount deals that can save you up to $150 if you order select iPad Pro models before Sunday. Apple released the 9.7-inch iPad Pro earlier this year at the Apple March 2016 Event.
The $150 iPad deal comes from a combination of two offers: Best Buy’s $100 sale on either a 128GB or 256GB 9.7-inch iPad Pro and an additional $50 coupon code program for college students. Not attending college? No problem. Reports on reddit have mentioned Best Buy’s academic discount program supposedly doesn’t check to make sure the email address you sign up with contains an .edu domain.
The student promotional discount code works for anybody looking to buy a MacBook or an iMac instead of an iPad Pro as well. There is also a secondary coupon code on a successful purchase you can use to save $50 off a 2-year AppleCare insurance policy.
The 9.7-inch iPad Pro typically retails for $599 for the 32GB version, $749 for the 64GB version and $899 for the 256GB version, plus another $130 for a cellular model. In comparison, Apple’s smaller iPad Mini 4 costs $599 for a 128GB model (add $130 for a Wi-Fi + Cellular enabled model), while the less powerful — but not obsolete — iPad Air 2 costs $499 for a 64GB version (add $130 for a Wi-Fi + Cellular enabled model).
To be fair, the 9.7-inch iPad Pro has some features the iPad Mini 4 and iPad Air 2 lack. The iPad Pro comes with Smart Connector ports which allows support for accessories like the Smart Keyboard and Apple Pencil. Oh, and it’s available in Rose Gold as well.
