The iPhone 7 may have the same dynamic speaker setup as the 12.9-inch and 9.7-inch iPad Pro, as well as a new camera flash, according to the latest reports. French tech blog Nowhereelse.fr has posted supposedly leaked images of the iPhone 7 rear carriage that show speaker cutouts both at the top and bottom of the iPhone.
This has led to speculation that Apple may include the dynamic speaker technology first seen in Apple products such as the 12.9-inch and 9.7-inch iPad Pro into the next generation of the iPhone. This speaker technology allows an Apple device to compensate for how it’s being held, tweaking the treble and bass output in relation to the user.
This is the first time this rumor has made the rounds however, so it’s not particularly clear how much smoke there is around this. The other interesting thing about these pictures is that they show a different flash system than what’s typically seen on iPhones, with the flash below the camera instead of alongside it. The small hole in between the two larger cutouts is the microphone port.
The iPhone 7 is expected to be announced and subsequently released September 2016, with Apple rumored to be unveiling a third pricing tier for the iPhone 7. This more expensive model will supposedly have a dual rear-facing camera setup that will allow it to take slow motion videos at the same time as regular videos, as well a higher quality of digital zoom.
