Either Ember Lab is having development trouble, or it wants to deliver a high-quality finished product. Kena: Bridge of Spirits, the Pixar-looking cute game, has been delayed again, the third delay for the game. This time we will only have to wait for one more month.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits was supposed to release on August 24 but moved to September 21. The developer claims that they need a little more time to polish the game, so it performs well on all platforms. The announcement was made on Twitter.
“We have made the difficult decision to delay the release of Kena until September 21st to polish the game across all platforms,” Ember Lab tweeted.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits is not the only PS-exclusive indie title that has been delayed. Other indie titles like Solar Ash, Stray, and Little Devil Inside have been delayed as well. All of them will supposedly be released in 2021 now.
Kena: Bridge of Spirits will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, and PC. The PC version can only be bought from Epic Games Store. However, it will probably release on Steam after the exclusivity deal with EGS ends. The developer is also offering a free next-gen upgrade, meaning that if you bought the game on PS4, then you can upgrade it to the PS5 version for free. The PS5 version of the game will feature little to no loading screen, thanks to the super-fast proprietary SSD.
Kena is also a timed console exclusive, indicating that the game may release on Xbox or Nintendo platforms when the exclusivity period with Sony ends. However, as of now, an Xbox or Nintendo port has not been confirmed or even hinted at. I guess we'll just have to wait and see.
